LILIPUT
Liliput est une marque autrichienne de trains miniatures fondée à Vienne en 1947 par Walter Bücherl. Les modèles d'origine, fabriqués en tôle, étaient surtout autrichiens ou allemands. Le plastique a été adopté dès 1950 et une seconde unité de production ouverte en 1977 à Baden, près de Vienne.
Les modèles Liliput se sont rapidement imposés par leur esthétique réussie mais les locomotives ont longtemps fait l'objet de critiques à propos de la qualité de leur motorisation.
LILIPUT a toujours eu la réputation de produire des modèles sortant un peu des sentiers "battus", comme les beaux matériels "Rheingold".

A la fin des années 80, LILIPUT a connu des difficultés économiques et s'est rapprochée de nouveaux partenaires comme le fabricant de voitures miniatures HERPA. En 1992; LILIPUT a été reprise par le groupe BACHMAN Europe Plc et sa production délocalisée et assurée à Hong-Kong par KADER Industrial Company; le développement et la distribution des produits sont pris en charge par la filiale allemande située a Altdorf, près de Nuremberg.
Ces regroupement successifs font que l'on trouve les matériels produits par LILIPUT sous différentes appellations: LILIPUT-Wien, Herpa-LILIPUT, Bachman-LILIPUT, …
Aujourd'hui LILIPUT propose des modèles HO autrichiens, allemands, suisses mais également français comme la très belle 140C231 du dépôt de La Rochelle, ainsi que des modèles en voie HO étroite (HOe).
